The punctuations in this work converse on effects of colonialism in Zimbabwe.

The cultural and racial genocide that transpired during colonial supremacy has manifested in identity crisis creating a wedge between tradition and contemporary culture.

Peter Musami attended the national gallery of Zimbabwe school of visual arts and design from 2012 to 2013, and graduated at the top of his class, receiving the best student award in 2012 and the outstanding student award in 2013.

Musami’s work focuses on healing and restoration as it is experienced through the gender divide.

The process which he uses to create the work act as symbolic gestures on how he explores notions of healing and restoration. 

The physical act of scratching, tearing, cutting and destroying and then mending, repairing and fixing are expressed in the final outcome of the work.

Musami has had solo and group exhibitions at the National gallery of Zimbabwe, Delta Gallery, Tsoko gallery, Imba yaSarai, artb gallery, Doncasterartfair, Zerialartproject, and many others.
